About Me! Mrs.Olszewski (Oh-chef-ski)
September 3, 2013
Dear Families,
Welcome to a new school year! I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with fun adventures! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and working with you as your child enters kindergarten, a year filled with wonder and new opportunities for learning and making new friends! A special welcome to families new to John Black. It is a wonderful school and community! Welcome back to some of our senior kindergarten students from last year. It is very important to me that all of the children feel comfortable and happy in their new classroom environment and that the lines of communication between home and school are always open and positive.
I am thrilled to be back teaching at John Black. I have recently spent three years working for our Program Department as an Instructional Coach, supporting teachers around the board in K to 8 classrooms. Prior to that I taught grade 2/3 for 3 here at John Black for three years and loved every minute of it! Previously, I worked in Alma for several years. I have taught every grade from kindergarten to grade 6 as well as special education and library in my twenty two years of teaching for both the Upper Grand and Peel Boards of Education.
I live in Fergus with my husband, Frank, our daughter, Soraya and our son, Owen. Soraya is finished high school, traveling and working towards her post-secondary goals and Owen is in his final year at Centre Wellington High School. We have had a very full and exciting summer, including two weeks touring around Paris, France and England! It was amazing! I hope that you had some fun summer adventures of your own as well as some time to relax and spend time with your family and friends. I am sure I will hear many exciting stories from the students!
Please do not hesitate to call me or to drop me a quick email at
[email protected] with any questions or concerns. You may want to write this down at home in a handy location. It was wonderful to meet many of you at the Lemonade party and I will look forward to meeting others at our Open House later this month, if not before. Stay in touch!
Looking forward to an exciting, new year of learning and fun!
Warmly,
Sarah-Jane Olszewski
